Functional Safety in Industrial Applications
October 18 – 19, 2011 in Shanghai – China
20th Oct 2011, Beijing – The first ever International Functional Safety Symposium was held at the Hilton Shanghai Hongqiao on 18th–19th October 2011, and was a grand success. Around 200 technical participants from manufacturers and system integrators, 21 domestic and overseas sponsors, as well as government officials and scholars attended the conference and exhibition, held at the same time.
Heinz Gall, Head of TÜV Rheinland’s global Functional Safety business, and Zhao Bin, Head of TÜV Rheinland Greater China’s Functional Safety unit, introduced Important User Information in Functional Safety standards and Major Changes in the IEC 61508 Second Edition. Summit speakers included government officials from the Shanghai Administration of Work Safety, scholars from the University of Kassel, Germany, and industry experts from Germany, the United States, Japan, Great Britain, Australia, the Netherlands, Singapore, and China. Many automation companies served as sponsors, and presented their latest functional-safety solutions and technologies during the two-day event.
