Interest Group
On the occasion of the TÜV Functional Safety Program an Interest Group has been established. The approx. 20 members of this board are executives of national and international companies working in the field of functional safety. These are companies who either manufacture safety-related products or are integrators of safety-related systems.
All members of the interest group have long term practice and knowledge especially concerning the relevant international standards IEC 61508 and IEC 61511 and their application areas. Many of them are members of relevant boards and working groups, TÜV Functional Safety Expert and consequently trainers/conductors and course providers within the TÜV Functional Safety Program.
The interest group's objective is to create a general and uniform standard of competence worldwide, based on longterm experience and practical proficiency regarding the application of safety-related systems (in the area of functional safety). According to this standard a high qualification and vocational training of persons suitable for their practice shall be obtained.
Additionally the interest group acquires and supports the development and dissemination of relevant and necessary information in order to create an up to date and international dialogue as well as support the tasks of the TÜV Functional Safety Program.
Automation, Software und Information Technology, ASI, of TÜV Rheinland Industrie Service GmbH keeps tight contact to the members of the interest group. Two meetings are being held within a year, in order to discuss details and information on technical developments and experiences and to adjust these to the TÜV Functional Safety Program.
