TÜV Functional Safety Expert
The TÜV Functional Safety Program offers engineers or persons, who have been working in the field of functional safety for many years, the possiblity to achieve a formal proof of their competencies and knowledge.
How
to become a TÜV Functional Safety Expert
Automation, Software and Information Technology, ASI, of TÜV Rheinland Industrie Service GmbH reviews and assesses the high quality knowledge, the know how and the specific expertise of engineers working in the field of functional safety.
Applicants have to submit documents, which substantiate their experience and competencies. These documents will be assessed acc. to the necessary requirements. In case of a positive assessment, the applicant will obtain a certificate including the TÜV Functional Safety Expert logo. The certificate confirms his specific knowledge and his competencies. (Costs for review and assessment of TÜV FS Expert documents and material are EURO 2.000).
Furthermore he is an acknowledged trainer within the TÜV Functional Safety Program and can perform trainings/courses according to his special field.
Only by means of support from these experts, who have a qualified education and many years of intensive experience a qualification program like the TÜV Functional Safety Program will be successful.

Assessment Procedure
All submitted information/material
will be reviewed and assessed by TÜV Rheinland Industrie Service GmbH,
Automation, Software and Information Technology, ASI.
According to the integrated Quality Management System an internal report will
be worked out and all material will be archived accordingly.
Validity of certificate
To prolong a certificate a written proof is necessary, either in form of a short exam covering updates in standards and best practices in functional safety or a recent written case study.
