TÜV Nord (Hamburg) and TÜV Rheinland Group (Cologne) are organising under the roof of the European Workshop on Industrial Computer Systems (EWICS TC7) the

6th International Symposium
Programmable Electronic Systems in Safety related Applications.

Since 1994 this successfull event is being held at the headquarters of the TÜV Rheinland Group in Cologne/Germany every two years. The event offers a professional forum for the presentation and discussion of new applications and concepts of automation in security related fields.

The target group focusses on interested persons and experts, whose job is concentrated on planning, producing, operating, testing and approving of safety related systems and plants. The participants and exhibitors mainly come from Germany, a considerable amount also from Europe, the United States and Asia.

Topics of the symposium will be:

• Safety related PLCs
• Field instrumentation (e.g. smart sensors, actuators)
• Communication
• Safety networks, Software tools for application software development and tests
• IEC 61508: Applicability and experience
• IEC 61511: Scope and current status
• Applications in different industrial sectors.

We plan to have sequential presentations where producers, suppliers, integration companies and end users present their products and/or applications with respect to the topics above mentioned. Additionally we will have invited speakers.

What's new ?

On the second day of the symposium workshops will take place after the lunch-break. Interested persons can discuss special topics in detail with experts in small groups. Should you be interested in performing a workshop, kindly inform us.

The Speaker's Corner is also a novelty: during the coffee breaks speakers of previous speeches will be at the participant's disposal to answer detailled questions.

Companies also have the possibilty to exhibit their products and services during the symposium. The location at the headquarters of TÜV Rheinland Group offers an ideal ambience for convincing presentations.
