Safety in Engineering

In various fields of application concerning engineering, systems and components of automation have to assign comprehensive safety related tasks. Main aim of safety engineering is, to avoid accidents caused by technical defects, faulty sequence of events or false human reaction-people which endager the environment and technology.

TÜV Industrial Services GmbH, Automation, Software and Information Technology, ASI, offers workshops concerning "Safety in Engineering". Experienced speakers pass on their expertise and give basic and detailled knowledge of safety engineering and answer the following questions:

• Is the use of safety bus systems worthwhile ?
• Are safety related PLC's to be trusted ?
• How will an insertion with open control be safe ?
• Which errors (faults) can be avoided when using Servos in creep feed or inching mode ?
• What can and cannot be parametrized and programmed in safety engineering ?
• Who implements the inspection and who allows the safety function ?
• How to find your way through the jungle of standards.

The participants will obtain detailed information about how safety works, which measures concerning safety have to be complied and how to proceed when integrating functional safety.
